Export what you don't use.
Solar ATAP replaced Net Energy Metering on 1 January 2026. It keeps NEM's core idea — excess energy you export becomes an offset against your bill — under a ten-year contract.
How it works
You generate on your own roof and consume what you need. Excess is exported to the grid as an energy offset, on the same core principle NEM used. The contract runs ten years; after that the installation is strictly for self-consumption, with no offset or roll-over on exported energy.
Who it fits
Commercial and industrial premises can install up to 100% of Maximum Demand, subject to technical assessment, capped at 1,000 kW. Domestic installations are capped at 5 kW single-phase or 15 kW three-phase. You must be a registered TNB consumer, not already on SelCo or NEM, and not a generator, co-generator or back-feed account. The system has to be installed and commissioned before you apply.
What we do
An application requires a SEDA Registered Photovoltaic Service Provider. SFS Energy Sdn Bhd, the group’s EPC company, holds that registration, so we design, build and commission the system, then handle the registration through it.
